SHOW DESCRIPTION
Disney’s Newsies JR. is a 60-minute version of the 2012 Broadway musical, based on the 1992 film. Inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York City, Newsies JR. features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein.
When powerful newspaper publishers raise prices at the newsboys’ expense, the charismatic Jack Kelly rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions. Together, the newsies learn that they are stronger united and create a movement to fight for what’s right.
Including the now-classic songs “Carrying the Banner,” “Seize the Day,” and “Santa Fe,” Newsies JR. is a timeless story full of spirit and heart.This week-long camp concludes with a fully staged public performance for family and friends on Friday, August 7 at 5pm & 7:30pm.

AUDITIONS ARE FOR ROLE PLACEMENT ONLY, ALL REGISTERED CAMPERS ARE IN THE PRODUCTION.
Registered campers will receive two links in late April:
1) A Sign-Up Genius link to schedule your audition date/time (Audition date to be announced, Video audition submissions are accepted for those not able to attend in person auditions),and
2) Audition Packet including the drama and solo singing parts that your child will use during the audition, and an audio of all songs in the musical that your child can use to prepare for both the audition and the week of camp. The Audition Packet will include choices for a song for both girls and boys

Join us for the ultimate adventure in Shrek! This musical theater camp will have you laughing, singing, and dancing all the way through Shrek’s fairytale world. Based on the beloved animated film, Shrek Jr. follows the lovable ogre and his quirky companions as they embark on an epic quest. With challenging roles, exciting choreography, fun group activities, and lessons in tech for those who love all things behind the scenes, this camp is perfect for teens looking to take their show skills to new heights.
This week-long camp concludes with a fully staged public performance for family and friends on Friday, July 17 at 7:30pm. THIS CAMP WILL CONSIST OF CAMPERS AGES 13- 19.

ABOUT THE CAMP
Ever dreamed of making your own movie? At LifeLight’s Filmmaking Camp, students will step into the exciting world of filmmaking and learn how movies go from idea to screen! Campers will work together to write an original short film, explore camera techniques and storytelling, and create real film crews with roles like actors, directors, camera operators, and sound crew.
Using hands-on activities and professional-style filmmaking techniques, students will discover the creativity, teamwork, and movie magic behind the scenes, then premiere their finished film on the final day!
