Performing Arts Instructor Bios-

Michelle B (LYT Artistic Director, Drama, Musical Theatre, Acting for the Camera)- veteran homeschool mom of 2 who founded LifeLight Youth Theatre in 1999 and has had the joy of educating over 1000 students in theatre arts and has over 30 years theatrical experience (performing, stage managing, teaching and directing) in the secular and sacred arenas. Her students are continually awarded scholarships and accepted to renowned university theatre programs and many students have gone onto theatre careers. LYT alumni are professional actors on stage and TV with companies such as Disney, Sight and Sound Theatre, Busch Gardens, B17 Entertainment, The Muny, Opera Theatre of St Louis, New Line Theatre, Missouri Ballet Theatre and St Louis Ballet. Also with well- known regional and national theatre companies such as Boothbay Playhouse and Musical Theatre of Wichita and many former students are sharing with the next generation by being theatre educators.  Michelle brought LYT to every elementary school in the Francis Howell School District "after school program" and students got to learn the art of theatre.  Her directing and choreography credits include but are not limited to, Rodger’s & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma and The King & I, Disney’s Beauty & the Beast, Fiddler on the Roof, The Music Man, Godspell, Annie, It’s a Wonderful Life, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Seussical and Disney’s The Little Mermaid.  Michelle is so grateful for the opportunity to mentor young people by guiding them to find God's purpose for them through their gifts and doing it for the glory of God.

Sheri S (LYT Music Director, Group Voice & Intermediate & Advanced Private Voice) - has a lifelong background in instrumental and vocal music. She has studied and performed various instruments, has directed several choirs, and was the founder and director of a large church drama ministry. She has worked in musical theatre for over 30 years and has trained hundreds of students in good vocal technique. Sheri’s passion for music centers around a love for communicating messages in song and she is excited to work with LYT students on the vocal techniques and skills that will equip them to think beyond the notes and words to make each song something the audience doesn’t just hear, but something they experience!

Lauren M (LYT Choreographer, Ballet/Jazz, Tutu Tots)- received her training at St Louis Ballet with Gen Horiuchi and Ellen Costanza, She continued her training at North Carolina Dance Theatre as a merit scholarship student and attended Pacific Northwest Ballet summer intensive with a merit scholarship from the Dance Council.  Lauren was also accepted into the prestigious School of American Ballet summer training program.  After graduation Lauren joined the Saint Louis Ballet company as a professional ballerina and also danced 3 seasons with Missouri Ballet Theatre.  She has performed professionally the lead in George Balanchine's "Valse Fantasies", Pas de Trois in "Swan Lake", The Sugar Plum Fairy in "The Nutcracker", as well as in various roles in "Giselle", "Cinderella" and "The Sleeping Beauty".

Lauren has coached and choreographed for dancers competing in the Youth American Grand Prix ballet competition.  She also is a faculty member of St Louis Ballet School and is a sought after instructor at Dance Summer Intensives in the St Louis area. . Along with her passion for ballet, she loves musical theatre and trained with LYT and has been seen on stages around St. Louis including The Muny.

TJ Coff (Tap dance, Asst Choreographer )- is beginning her 8th year teaching with LYT.  TJ is assistant choregrapher and is a LYT alumni and she began her training at LifeLight when she was only 8 yrs old.
