SHOW DESCRIPTION

Disney’s Newsies JR. is a 60-minute version of the 2012 Broadway musical, based on the 1992 film. Inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York City, Newsies JR. features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein.

When powerful newspaper publishers raise prices at the newsboys’ expense, the charismatic Jack Kelly rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions. Together, the newsies learn that they are stronger united and create a movement to fight for what’s right.

Including the now-classic songs “Carrying the Banner,” “Seize the Day,” and “Santa Fe,” Newsies JR. is a timeless story full of spirit and heart. This week-long camp concludes with a fully staged public performance for family and friends on Friday, August 7 at 5pm & 7:30pm.

Based on the beloved animated film, Shrek Jr. follows the lovable ogre and his quirky companions as they embark on an epic quest. With challenging roles, exciting choreography, fun group activities, and lessons in tech for those who love all things behind the scenes, this camp is perfect for teens looking to take their show skills to new heights. The camp culminates in a full production of Shrek Jr., so get ready to step into the swamp and perform with pride!
This week-long camp concludes with a fully staged public performance for family and friends on Friday, July 17 at 5pm. THIS CAMP WILL CONSIST OF CAMPERS AGES 9-12.

LifeLight Youth Theatre's Summer Production Camps are an action-packed week full of learning, fun, and friends. Campers study acting, music and dance with professional theatre artists as part of the rehearsal process, which also includes technical elements such as lights, sound, set, costumes, props, and projections.
