We at LYT love musicals and sharing this passion with young people. We love training students the craft of acting, but to truly "Get to Know" the story you must go backstage, behind the scenes of the musical. In our "Get to Know" series we will learn what the musical is about, but also students will explore backstage elements such as costumes, set design, choreography and lighting design from some of their favorite Broadway musicals.

LYT is excited to bring you this first-of-its kind musical, The Show Must Go Online! Each performer of The Show Must Go Online! will receive a specific scene (monologue or song) and work with their fellow castmates and directors to hone their skills and shape their scene. All auditions*, rehearsals, and performances will be done entirely online.
Students will rehearse with their directors online from May 12 to May 28 ,at the time listed for the Session that you register for. We are looking for everyone to bring their personality and individuality to every role in each separate session/ production! This online world is still new to everyone in the ‘live’ performing arts and the focus of the creative team will be to coach you to get the best result! Once rehearsals are complete, each cast member will be asked to record their final scene/song and upload it to us so that we may assemble all the videos. When the scenes are played in sequence, they present a complete online musical theatre experience. The show runs about 35-40 minutes in length. The virtual online performance for each class/session is to be presented on Saturday, June 6, 2020!
We are thrilled to bring this show to our virtual stage while our MainStage show is postponed until summer.
Show Synopsis- The Show Must Go Online! is a hilarious story of a group of kids trying to save their school musical by putting it online! Includes fun nods to musical theatre and even a parody of the song "Defying Gravity" from Wicked. Do they succeed and save the drama program? There's only one way to find out! *Once you register, we will be in touch with complete audition information. You will be sending us two short videos-
Video #1 - Up to one minute of you singing a song of your choice. Please use a karaoke track.
Video #2 - Choose 2 of the sides (portions of the script) to perform. Get creative! Show us what you've got!
