Audition Information for Summer Camps (no audition needed for half -day campers)
AUDITIONS ARE FOR REGISTERED CAMPERS ONLYREGISTER HERE

All campers are cast and auditions are for role placement only.

Each musical will be a great experience for all involved and a fun challenge for the actors to prepare it in just a week.


AUDITION DATE AND TIMES:

FOR AGES 8-12- JUNE 7 from 11:30AM- 1:30PM;

FOR AGES 13 & UP- JUNE 7 from 1:45PM- 4:45PM 

Campers are needed the entire time audition time.


HOW TO PREPARE FOR AUDITIONS(for full day campers) :

ONLY ONE AUDITION IS NEEDED, SO IF YOU ARE ATTENDING MULTIPLE CAMPS, YOU ONLY AUDITION ONCE. 

Campers should arrive a few minutes early to receive their audition number at the table outside of the audition room.


WHAT TO BRING TO AUDITIONS:

-Dress in clothing easy to move in

  • Find a song that you can be comfortable performing, and one that reflects your personality.
  • Choose a song that is IN your vocal range - one you can sing all the notes comfortably.
  • Practice and preparation is essential for a successful audition - the more you practice, the more comfortable you will be during your audition.
  • *Prepare 30 seconds from your song (perky, show-type song) WITH musical accompaniment, approx.. 16 bars.  (No unaccompanied auditions permitted.)


Possibilities for accompaniments include:  NO LIVE ACCOMPANIMENT, PLEASE BRING A CD OR MP3.
1) Buy a CD or MP3 (karaoke CDs, etc.) WITHOUT any vocal accompaniment or backup voices. We will have a CD player available.
2) Purchase a karaoke/ backing track from ITunes and play it from your phone.  PHONES MUST BE OUT OF CASES, we have speakers with the proper adapter to play.  Or burn it onto a CD.


DANCE AUDITION - A group dance sequence with the choreographer will be taught in groups and performed in groups. If you own ballet/jazz shoes and tap shoes, please bring them.  If not, wear shoes that are easy to move in.

Some will be asked to do a cold readings from the script (no preparation is needed for the cold reading)
