This class draws on the high-energy and creativity of this age group in order to introduce our youngest thespians to the basic concepts of theatre. Students will learn about the theatrical elements of plot, setting, theme, and character through the medium of storytelling. Each class students will focus on a particular element through show and tell, a craft, group story time, and beginning theatre games. Creative Drama performs an end of the year production for family.
LYT DRAMA FOR AGES 9-12 -
Mon.,1:00PM -2:00PM,Ages 9-12; 2nd semester time may extend for Mainstage production rehearsal
This class is designed to develop the confidence and creativity of the actor. Students will study correct vocal projection, stage movement, character development, and objective based acting. The class begins with group exercises and will also include opportunities for individual development and partner work. Students in LYT Drama for Ages 9-12 have the opportunity to perform in LYT's Mainstage all new production in the spring. Class time extends in spring to accommodate rehearsal for spring production and a production fee is due to offset costs (can be done with no additional out of pocket)
LYT DRAMA FOR AGES 13 & UP-
Mon.,2:00PM-3:00PM, Ages 13- 19; 2nd semester time 1pm- 4:30pm for Mainstage production rehearsal.
Students will be able to determine characterization, motivation, creative movement and staging through in-depth scene study. The memorization of both monologues and duet acting will be required. Material will range from Shakespeare-20th century. Students in LYT Drama for Ages 13 & up have the opportunity to perform in LYT's Mainstage all new production in the spring. Class time extends in spring to accommodate rehearsal for spring production and a production fee is due to offset costs (can be done with no additional out of pocket)

Actor's Studio students perform in the Christmas Dessert Theatre performance of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

GROUP VOICE -(Ages 9 & up) Monday,12:30pm-1pm,
This course will teach students the basics of vocal technique including: mechanics of the vocal instrument; preparation for singing (warm-ups); airflow (breathing); tone creation and placement; scales, octaves and theory; vocal maintenance &more.
$20/mo- Yearly supply fee of $20 per student
PRIVATE VOCAL TRAINING- Ages 12 & up,
(Prerequisite:Completed Group Voice I (or concurrent enrollment) and/or permission of instructor),
Each 30 minute lesson is individually designed for the student and will include one-on-one training in basic vocal technique as well as vocal performance coaching. Lessons are scheduled with instructor.
$25 per lesson (paid monthly), Semester supply fee of $15 per student.
